Farm of Dreams Lodge is the first night of our 4-Day Classic Tanzania Safari, in the farming town of Karatu on the slopes below the Ngorongoro highlands. The lodge sits in a garden of flowers and vegetables, with jacaranda-lined paths and sweeping views of the hills, and is within easy reach of the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Eyasi, Lake Manyara and Tarangire. Its 48 rooms are spread across small thatched clusters in the gardens, each with a large en-suite bathroom with a shower and a terrace with a table and chairs; family rooms are available. There is a swimming pool, a restaurant and a lounge bar. Karatu splits the long road to the Serengeti into two comfortable days, so it suits guests on a mid-range road safari who want a proper bed and a quiet evening after Tarangire.
